Snowing in Spring?!?

This was a real treat!  We got lots of snow during the past 24 hours.  Public schools were closed in my county today, so I stayed home and cleaned my tushy off (the superheroes daycare was open, so they both went to school).  One of the things I read in The Happiness Project, was to clean any clutter you have in your home.  I ended up the day with about 10 bags of trash, and 6 bags of donations.

When the superheroes got home from daycare, it was time to PLAY in the snow.  Eric and Colton went outside and made 2 snowmen.  Since the snow has turned to rain later on in the afternoon, one of the snowmen quickly "melted" (picture 3).

CRASH!  Right into the door...  Blake found it amusing

Pajama Story Time

Every since Colton was 2 months old, I took him to some sort of story time at one of our local libraries. As he got older, I frequented them less, since I was in school getting my teaching degree, and then teaching myself.  When Blake was born, I never took him to the library.  I pretty much took him to the gym while I worked out, and he played in the KidSpace area.  Last year, the superheroes, Eric and I took the boys to the library one weekend morning, but that was about it.

I have read about a Pajama Story Time at our libraries, which is held at 7:00pm on weekday evenings.  Tonight was my chance to bring the superheroes to it.  While Eric met friends for dinner, I gave the superheroes dinner, put them in their pjs, and headed to the library.

The theme tonight was bunnies, and the kids had a BLAST!  Colton even told me on the way home that he had a great time...  warms my <3!

Afterwards, they made a craft....  a paper bag bunny rabbit

Someone decided to color their hand!

And the finished products...  guess who made which one?

3 Years Apart

I having been waiting so patiently to compare my boy's looks.  Being 3 years apart (exactly), I figured from the day my youngest superhero was born, I could have pictures to compare him to his older brother, and see if they looked the same.  I didn't factor that one of them (Blakey) would not be walking as fast, and losing his baby weight as quick as Colton did.  It's been hard for me to see similarities between the 2 of them, because of Blake's extra 'puffiness'.

Well...  here's a pretty good comparison picture of the two of them, in the same exact outfit.  I don't think they look too much alike.  What do you think?

"If You Knew Me" by Colton Colombel Part II

Mommy:  "Who is your favorite person?"

Colton:     "My favorite person is zero!"  (maybe I should have interviewed him a little more than 5 minutes after he woke up from his nap!)

Mommy:   "If it was Halloween, what would you want to dress up as?"

Colton:      "Superman."

Mommy:    "What is your favorite food?"

Colton:        "I don't like any boring foods, that I should eat."  OOO-KAYYYYYY.........

Mommy:      "Ok, Colton.  Just name something, please."

Colton:          "Actually, fries and chicken nuggets."

Mommy:        "Who is your best friend at school?"

Colton:            "Joseph."

Mommy:        "What is your favorite thing to watch on your iPad?"

Colton:           "Dumbo."  (Seriously, I though he was going to say Ninjago or Woody Woodpecker.)

Mommy:          "What is your favorite thing to do outside?"

Colton:              "I want a two wheel bike and play with golf balls with daddy when I am big."

Mommy:           "What do you want to be when you grow up?"

Colton:               "The same thing as Daddy.  What does Daddy do, Mommy?"

By the way... The superheroes spent the night last night with Aunt Jennifer over Mimi's.  Here is a video the kids made...  (above)

Blondie

Ahhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!  I did it!!  As the older superhero is telling everyone,  "Mommy has yellow hair."

Eric thought I would look good as a blonde, and I have to admit, I do have some "dumb blonde" (or serious 'airhead') tendencies.  My students at school, actually at least 80% of the school, were completely blown away by my new look today at school.  I heard comments starting at the first bell at  7:55 in the morning like, "Oh my god, have you seen Ms. Colombel?"  to "I can't believe she did THAT to her hair!!!!!!!"   It's completely out of my comfort zone to do something so drastic, and especially to have people totally staring at me all day.  But, it was something that I always wanted to try as well, so f*ck forget it, I took the plunge.  And....  as I leave my 30's at the end of the month, I am finally figuring out to stop worrying what people think, and just "do me!"

Yes...  it's a little scary if you have known me for almost forty thirty-something years.

Too late now, I guess I will just have to get used to it!!

Have you done anything lately outside of your comfort zone?

A new PR

Eric made a personal record for himself this weekend, and I couldn't be prouder of him!  He shot a 74 playing golf!!  For those of you who aren't golf enthusiasts, (including myself, except for playing for about 4 months until I got preggo with Blake) it means he shot a 2 over par on a 72 par golf course.

When my husband is determined to do something, he works very hard to try to reach his goal.  It could be anything from putting up crown molding throughout our house (with help from moi!), cooking low-sodium soups from scratch, planning AMAZING vacations for my family, and pretty much anything else he is interested in.  Eric does spend lots of time with his work and family, but golfing is his definite stress-reliver.  And...  I am super-proud of him!

The oldest superhero will start taking golf lessons this summer, along with possibly swimming and maybe soccer.  Even if my boys do not turn out to be athletic, I hope they follow in Daddy's footsteps to practice, practice, practice, figure out their goals and focus on how to obtain it, and HAVE FUN!!

Here's the only picture I have of him related to golf.  We went to San Francisco 4 years ago, and we walked around on Pebble Beach.
