27 Week Progress

Well..  a lot has been happening aesthetically in the new home (which I think we might "name" Meadow Creek).  It's been a lot of fun being able to have many of the finishes installed, and seeing all of our plans come to life.

Last week, our hard wood floors were installed.  We still need them sanded and finished, but for now they are covered up with brown paper, awaiting for all of the trim to get installed and painted.  Our screened porch was built, but as of now we still need it stained, screened, and the shingles and door put on. Our air conditioning units are also installed, as well as our kitchen and master bathroom cabinets.  The installers will be making a template of the granite, but for now, most of the cabinets and hardware are installed.

Take a look!!

This wall will house the fridge, sink, and the island is in front.

This wall will house a desk and the range and range hood

We had wall cabinets installed top and bottom, to save 6" of floor space.

I

n the next 3 weeks, we should have all of our trim up, the house painted a second coat of paint, stone facade, and hopefully our tile work installed.

My 41st

Today was my 41st, and I got to spend it with my favorite 3 boys!  Eric made dinner tonight, and the superheroes sang to me and ate cake and ice cream.

On Saturday, Stephanie, Heather, Nirit, Amy and I went out to Tiber on the Tea for lunch.  We had so much fun, and it was no nice that all of my friends got along so well.

On Sunday, Eric and I took the superheroes to Arundel Mills mall, and let the boys run around while I scored with buying myself 9 $5 shirts from Old Navy!!

The Calm before the STORM

Tomorrow is supposed to snow…  no REALLY snow this time.  We have had a few "fake" snow forecasts in the past 2 weeks, but the weather predictors swear this time it will snow.  So..  Eric and I decided to get the superheroes out of the house…  to do something educational since schools are already closed for Monday (tomorrow), and to just get out of the house.

We decided to take a family outing to the National Aquarium in Baltimore.  We spent about 1 1/2 hours looking at fish, sharks, exotic birds, reptiles and dolphins, then had a fabulous crab lunch at Phillips, played outside on a really cool metal playground, and then had a tasty treat at one of our favorite dessert spots, Vaccaros.

16 weeks house update

The columns and railing in our Master balcony got installed this week.

Our electrical wiring and lighting is about half installed now, and should be finished mid-week.

Wiring on Blake's wall.  On the other side is out hallway, and behind that is our Master.

Electric wiring in our Master, which will be on the left side of our bed.

LED housing, plumbing and HVAC in Colton's ceiling

We also got our double garage door installed, which will be a large space when opened to get our ride-one mower or ATVs (hopefully!) outside.

Happy Halves!

The boys turned "halves" yesterday… Colton- 5 1/2 and Blake 2 1/2.   We had a little celebration last year as well (read post here).  A chocolate frosted yellow cake was served at Mimi's (and Juliana was there too), and the boys got small gifts.

Blake had picked out a Chuggington Train (named Koko) at Toys R Us the day before, and Colton picked out a Ninja Turtle.  Colton was too excited to play with it, and took off before I could snap a pic of him with it.
